Aislin: Prophetic Witch Trapped Inside A Crystal Ball

An exotic European beauty, Aislin is an Ivy League educated genius. She is also a jewel thief and a witch from a traditional line of witchery that runs all the way back to Dr. John Dee, a famous medieval seer. Armed with his ancient, legendary crystal ball, Aislin uses it to further her own gain…until Robert Franklin makes an appearance in her divinatory tool. This love at first sight experience causes her to drop everything to searches and find him and offer her help.

With Robert being skeptical at first, she uses her obvious charms to convince him to trust her. Together, they go on a wild ride that includes alien abduction, reproductive experiments, Robert’s revenge against his lifelong nemesis and culminates in both of them standing before Aislin’s first cousin, who just happens to be the new leader of the Earth, the Anti-Christ Lee Ginn.

Excerpt: Aislin trapped inside John Dee's Crystal Ball

“Goddess Freya, bless me as I journey between the veils that separates the dimensions,” she intoned, staring deeply into her crystal ball.  “Watchers of the heavens and rulers of the cardinal directions, Fomalhaut, Antares, Aldebaron, Regulus, I beseech you to protect me on my journey!”

She quietly repeated her invocation, barely audible even to Chief Washakie, who was a mere three feet from her.  Soon her perception of reality began to change.  Her crystal ball began to cloud up, just like it always did before showing her whatever it felt she needed to know.  Only this time, the swirling, white smoke began to funnel, like a mini tornado, with its vortex making contact with the crystal itself, spinning into frenzy as it probed the inner surface of crystal ball, until finally, the smoke found a porous weakness and proceeded to manipulate it.

The vortex poured itself into a small air bubble on the inside of the crystal, spinning itself at near light speed until it drilled out of the crystal ball, like a genie escaping from its bottle.  Once free it turned into a finger of smoke and slowly inched its way out of the hole, like a night crawler coming out of the cold, dark ground.

The gently, blowing breeze did not cause the smoky finger to dissipate, but rather, made it twist itself even tighter until it transformed into a desert rattlesnake.  The grey and brown colored, triangular headed, viper began flicking its forked tongue at Aislin’s face and moving seductively from side to side, like a cobra trying to mesmerize its victim.

Usually a straightforward biter, this smoky apparition instead stretched itself out towards Aislin, furiously twisting itself into a coil around her relaxed body until it encircled her.  The otherworldly tempest then sucked her into its vortex headfirst, retracted back into the crystal ball, shrinking Aislin and itself in size as it went.
Suddenly, Aislin was free of the snakes’ grip and found herself looking out of the crystal ball instead of looking into it.  She realized she was trapped inside.

The smoky vortex stopped twisting and began to float near her feet like low-lying fog.  She ran to the edge of the crystal, but there was no way out.  She smacked her hands on the crystal, trying to break out of her captivity, but she could not escape.
