What
is the Antichrist? Vision of the Anti-Christ Series
The Antichrist is perhaps the
most frightening figure in human history, with the possible exception of Satan
himself. According to ancient Holy books, the Anti-Christ is to appear just
before the end times, to challenge a messianic figure and bring about the
apocalyptic end-times war.
Before I explore who the
prophetic unholy Man of Perdition might be, I think it’s also important to
learn more about what the Antichrist is.
This post will explore ancient prophecies from these Holy books and from
prophetic figures such as Daniel, John of Patmos, Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce and
others.
Daniel’s
Anti-Christ
The Book of Daniel is probably
the most quoted for prophecies of the Anti-Christ, with the possible exception
of the John’s Book of Revelations. Daniel was a prophet at the time of Jewish
exile at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar that spoke of an age of
increased knowledge (internet), falling away of religion, of four beasts rising
from the sea, with the final one having ten horns, of an abomination that
causes desolation, and, of course, the Anti-Christ. But what does all this symbolism mean?
The most common explanation I’ve
found is that the four beasts are four kingdoms. Since it was written in Nebuchadnezzar’s
time that would be the first with Alexander the Great, the Roman Empire and a
current day NATO Empire following. The USA is the leading candidate for the
fourth beast because of its military and economic might.
If one were to consider that
the four beasts are all current powers, the USA, Russia, China and Europe would
have to be odds on favorites. Those four entities pretty much rule the entire
world, culturally, militarily and economically.
If the four beasts are
religions you’d have to look at Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism and Islam.
They are always fighting amongst each other as well as pitting countries of the
world against each other. ‘Tis always been so, to a large degree.
What if Catholicism and
Protestantism were combined, who’d be the fourth then? Hinduism and Buddhism
are huge religions, but they don’t necessarily seem to fall into the pattern of
holy wars like the other three. Some countries that are predominantly Hindu or
Buddhist do have nuclear weapons though, so that theory cannot simply be
discarded out of hand.
If not one of those two
religions, perhaps atheism could be the final beast. Like the great Orson
Wells’ book 1984, secularism is on the rise. It’s totally different than the
type practiced by Commies of the Red Scare era, though certain religious
leaders would tell you different. This is real people using nothing more than
old fashioned reasoning.
Perhaps the people of the
world will finally tire of the constant warring of the dominant religions and
the governments they control, and will somehow force the final battle that will
decide not only which religion wins but also whether religion wins at all.
Revelations’
Anti-Christ
The prophet John’s Book of
Revelations mimics Daniel’s prophecy to a large degree. It also has four beasts
that rise at the time of the end. John’s
fourth beast is the only beast that doesn’t rise from the sea. He describes it like so: And I beheld another
beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he
spake as a dragon. That sounds like the good ol’ USA to me, with its religious
right and military might, acting like a Christian nation while being in a state
of war during 218 of its first 239 years of existence.
The prophecy continues by
talking about a ‘great whore’ that sits upon many waters and contains people
from all nations and tongues. That could only be the USA. The book clearly
states that the woman is a city that rules the world, so New York is the most
likely choice. However, the Bible often speaks by means of symbolism, so a
female president cannot be discounted. The prophecy states that other countries
hate the beast and the woman and burn her. New York City has already burned.
And a female president is a real possibility. This prophecy, though narrowed to
two possibilities, remains a mystery.
Nostradamus’
Anti-Christ
Nostradamus Antichrist
prophecies foresaw not one, but THREE Antichrists. Each of the three would
take civilization one step closer to total annihilation.

Mabus will soon die, then will come,
A horrible undoing of people and animals,
At once one will see vengeance,
One hundred powers, thirst, famine, when the comet will pass.

The Anti-Christ very soon annihilates the three,
twenty-seven years his war will last.
The unbelievers are dead, captive, exiled;
with blood, human bodies, water and red hail covering the earth.

Nostradamus first Antichrist
is commonly thought of as Napoleon and his second as Hitler. The third he
refers to as Mabus. There are lots of
candidates for this one. You could almost make the name by cherry picking the
letters from Bush, Obama, Osama Bin Laden, Bashar Hafez al-Assad, and ISIS
leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. One thing to consider is that Nostradamus
predicted that this man would be incapacitated in some manner and would then
return to lead his followers in a 27 year war. al-Baghdadi is the only one that
fits that description as he was captured and imprisoned in Iraq, then was freed
and became Imam. Following the lines of Napoleon and Hitler, al-Bagdadi wasn’t
born elite. He was just an average cleric that somehow obtained total power of
an ideology. It’s worth mentioning that Hitler’s
ideology was jumpstarted with his imprisonment, as well.
One thing is for sure, Mabus
is to die suddenly and start a 27 year war. Of the candidates above, only Bin
Laden has been killed, so far.
Edgar
Cayce’s Anti-Christ
Cayce’s end-time prophecy
focuses more on the USA, where he predicts a class war/revolution, of a terror
group, ISIL, and World War 3. He leaves open to interpretation who the person
is that will lead us into those trying times, that actually don’t seem so far
off anymore.
"There
must eventually come a revolution in this country and there will be a dividing
of the sections as one against another. For these are the leveling means and
manners to which men resort when there is plenty in some areas and a lack of
sustenance in others.” (Class War in the USA)
"When
many of the isles of the sea and many of the lands have come under the
subjugation of those who fear neither man nor the devil; who rather join
themselves with that force by which they may proclaim might and power as right,
as of a superman who is ideal for a generation to be established, then shall
their own land see blood flow, as in those periods when brother fought against
brother.” (ISIL)
"Without
the brotherhood of the world, there will again come Armageddon, and in the same
there will be seen that the Christian forces will again move westward! (World
War 3)
Myrddin
Wyllt’s (Merlin) Anti-Christ
No less frightening or easily
understood than other prophets, Merlin from 6th century England was
thought of as a madman by his contemporaries. However, many of his predictions
have come true, and from what I’ve read, he paints a dark prophetic picture of
the USA twelve centuries before it became a nation.
The
cult of religion shall be destroyed completely, and the ruin of the churches
shall be clear for all to see.
The
race that is oppressed shall prevail in the end, for it will resist the
savagery of the invaders.
Religion
shall be destroyed a second time and the seeds of the primates will be moved to
other places. London's high dignity shall adorn Durobernia, and the seventh
pastor of York will be visited in the realm of Armorica.
A
shower of blood shall fall, and a dire famine shall afflict mankind.
He
who will achieve these things shall appear as the Man of Bronze, and for long
years he shall guard the gates of London upon a brazen horse.
Death
will lay hold of the people and destroy all the nations. Those who are left
alive will abandon their native soil and will sow their seeds in other men's
fields.
Roots
and branches shall change their places, and the oddness of this will pass for a
miracle.
So,
Who is the Antichrist?
Now that we have a clearer
understanding that a certain world leader/power/religion is going to be the
catylyst for catastrophic change in the Order of the World, my upcoming posts
will give an individual look at some of the possibilities.
And there are lots of possibilities,
as I described above, but I will not judge. I will look at them all fairly,
present the evidence for and against, and leave the decision of who or what the
Anti-Christ figure might be, to you.
